Applications and Technical Support Engineer
Description :
As a member of the applications and technical support team, you will be a multi-disciplined engineer familiar with all aspects of Mechatronic Engineering and Industrial Automation.
Working with customers and our development team to apply products that are centred around specialised programmable motion controllers / PLCs used in a broad range of industrial machines to provide motion and automation functionality. In addition you will be helping to give customers advice on our range of brushless servo drives and motors, HMIs and PC based software that enables Trio to provide complete system solutions.
This post concerns supporting both the home UK market and most industrialised countries throughout the world. The technical support team handles requests from this large customer base through four Trio sales offices and a network of appointed distributors.
Running the online/email support response for a specified region
Taking lead product expert role on a number of automation products
Working with sales engineers to create technical solutions for customers
Managing projects that overlap between sales/applications/development
Travel Requirements :
Based at Trio’s HQ in Tewkesbury, Glos.
Some international travel to support Distributors. (4 to 6 weeks per year)
Travel to servo-drive technology centre in Milan from time to time
Required Qualifications & Experience :
Degree in Software/Mechatronics/Electronics or a strongly related discipline
Worked on interfacing automation hardware with electrical systems
Experienced in applying programmable systems to Servo Drives/Motors and general manufacturing machines.
Competencies :
High level programming languages; for example C, BASIC, Python
PLC programming, preferably using the standard IEC61131-3 environment
Electrical interfacing between a controller and sensors/actuators in an automation system
Servo drives and brushless servo motors
Stepper motors and drives
Ethernet networks, TCP/IP and topology
Working knowledge of PCs running Windows
Basic level of Windows / Linux application programming
Real-time deterministic networks, e.g. EtherCAT, Sercos, CanOpen, Profinet RT
Application and configuration of Industrial Robots
Programming and configuration of touch-screen HMIs
Applicants should have a broad personality and the ability to communicate effectively in English. They must already be legally entitled to live and work in the UK. A full driving licence is required and applicants must be eligible to obtain business visas for USA/Canada, China and India as some foreign travel may be necessary.

Senior Robotics and Motion Control Engineer
Description :
As a result of continuing expansion, we are recruiting a senior robotics and motion control development engineer to join our team and help us designing and developing the next generation of our robotic and motion control systems.
Trio has developed a complete industrial robotics solution with kinematic and dynamics algorithms, path and trajectory planning, and other advanced mathematical solutions. We design and test our own robotics scripting language, and develop new commands and structures.
Our Motion Coordinators are used internationally for industrial high-speed robotic and machine control, and incorporate advanced algorithms, software and electronics - including 64-bit multicore ARM processors and FPGA’s.

Applicants Requirements :
Applicants must have a good degree, masters or PhD in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mathematics or strongly related discipline. They must be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the principles behind industrial motion and robotic control, gained over at least 4 years of experience, ideally on industrial or high reliability projects.
Experience with the following will be advantageous:
Good understanding of kinematics and dynamics for industrial robots.

MathWorks MATLAB™

You will be responsible for leading the delivery of a number of complex safety critical and other safety related embedded systems across multiple platforms, achieving SIL2/PLd and SIL3/PLe certification.
