Trio Motion Technology is a specialised source of high performance motion control technology. We manufacture flexible and economical solutions for motion control applications, enabling control of complex high speed automation and machine control in most industries throughout the world.
We manufacture motion controllers branded “Motion Coordinators” and have a comprehensive range that allows seamless control of 1 to 64 axes of servo motors, stepper motors, piezo motors or hydraulic systems. Our flexible, modular controller range uses a common user interface and standard programming language.
We design customised solutions for OEM’s, manufacture motion control options for globally available drives and licence designs and technology to a number of automation companies. Our products are available locally via our global network of distributors and drive specialists. Each offers local training and technical support.

Motion Coordinator MC464...
The new MC464 supports up to 64 axes of motion with 64 bit integer position registers for ultra precise axis resolution. With support for networked digital drives, and programming with Trio BASIC or IEC61131 it saves interconnection time, increases flexibility and gives you more processing power. With many other features to make motion control even easier, the next generation of Motion Coordinator has arrived!
The unique modular design makes sure that whatever the drive, motor and feedback type you choose, you can control it simply, using only the hardware needed. The MC464 allows up to 7 half height expansion modules or 3 full height expansion modules to be added to the controller.
Expansion Modules include:
The Euro209 is designed to provide a powerful yet cost-effective control solution for OEM machine builders who are prepared to mount the unit and provide the power supplies required. It is designed to be configured and programmed for the application with Multi-tasking Trio BASIC using a PC, and then may be set to run “standalone” if an external computer is not required for the final system.
Save up to 39% off the list price of the controller. If you are new to Trio Motion and would like to test the benefits that the system offers then purchase our evaluation kit. This is a kit of all items required to evaluate our controller and software. More...
Our 2-day introductory courses are designed to provide an overview of the Motion Coordinator product range and to give an introduction to programming using TrioBASIC.
The course is based upon practical worked examples of each topic covered to enable the attendees to gain some valuable hands-on experience of using Motion Perfect2 to develop applications. More...

When programming an XY positioning system, sometimes it may be necessary to maintain a 3rd axis in alignment with the current vector direction of the motion. This can be achieved by using the TANG_DIRECTION command to determine the current vector direction and then using the return value in the MOVETANG command to align the 3rd axis to the vector. Applications include tangential knife cutting and measuring stylus control. more...
Have you ever wanted to set an output ON or OFF for a fixed period of time without holding up program execution to achieve this? The TIMER command allows an output, or a selection of outputs to be set or cleared for a pre defined period of time. There are 8 timer slots available, each can be assigned to any of the first 32 outputs. More...
Do you have any applications that require the following of complex surfaces? Data for these surfaces is generated by CAD packages and NURBS are often used to describe and export the surfaces. Trio's Motion Coordinators can expand NURBS, unlocking the potential to generate complex profiles. Typical applications include painting complex surfaces or manufacturing 3D models. More...
One of the standard languages that is widely used in CNC machines is G code. This language is typically output from many CADCAM packages and enables designs to be transferred rapidly to machines. Trio Motion Coordinators are able to interpret G & M codes using a standard Trio BASIC program to interpret the codes to generate commanded actions in the system. More...
New LabVIEW examples using the Trio PC Motion ActiveX component arenow available for Download. LabVIEW represents an easy-to-use graphical development environment for displaying live data. Users can rapidly interface with the Trio PCMotion component allowing integration of one or more Motion Coordinator into a LabVIEW controlled test and instrumentation environment. The examples show some of the techniques to use the synchronous and asynchronous connections. These can be found along with other programming languages examples under ‘Support - Examples’ on this site or by clicking here. The existing examples include Visual Basic, C#, C++ and Delphi.
