Piezoelectric
motors (from companies such as Nanomotion- www.nanomotion.com) have unique properties
which can make them ideal for certain applications using linear
or rotary stages. The servo algorithm incorporated into the
MC206X and MC224 has extensions to aid the setup and tuning of
piezoelectric motors. The extensions have 2 purposes: Firstly
to allow compensation for the deadband that occurs due do the
friction inherent in these stages. Secondly the servo algorithm
can be set to switch the output servo demand voltage off when the target
position has been reached within a programmable limit. |
